OSU Cancer Scholars Program

The Ohio State University Cancer Scholar Program is designed to recruit and retain a cadre of senior cancer investigators with international recognition to strengthen the OSU research porfile in general and the cancer program in particular. Activities of the OSU Cancer Scholars will suppport the cancer program in several specific ways including, but not limited to:

  1. Providing advice and counsel to the administrative leaership of the cancer center, medical center and university
  2. Providing academic and career mentoring to junior and senior faculty
  3. Identifying and fostering collaborative multidisciplinary research
  4. Maintenance of an outstanding research program

The qualifications for appointment as an OSU Cancer Scholar include:

  1. Membership in the National Academy of Sciences, or one of its component organizations, or an international equivalent
  2. A documented record of distinguished accomplishments in cancer research recognized at an international level

An OSU Cancer Scholar is appointed by the Senior Vice President for Health Sciences upon recommendation by the executive leadership of the OSU Cancer Program.
