The Nucleic Acid Shared Resource (NASR) is a new, reorganized core facility that combines the former Genotyping & Sequencing Shared Resource and the Real-time PCR Shared Resource with some additional services including RNA/DNA extraction and imaging.

Under the leadership of Dr. Hannes Alder, the goal of the NASR is to facilitate cancer research by providing high quality, fast, cost effective and reliable support for the OSUCCC. Specifically, the NASR provides the necessary instrumentation and expertise for DNA sequencing, genotyping, real-time PCR, RNA/DNA extraction, imaging and DNA synthesis support. The NASR also offers expertise for consulting and assisting in experimental designs to investigators. Additionally, the facility supports the development of novel methodologies and applications relevant to cancer research and it functions as a training and education center.
