Spine and Bone Tumor Symposium

Ohio State’s Comprehensive Cancer Center (OSUCCC) and the Center for Continuing Medical Education will hold the first Comprehensive Spine and Bone Tumor Symposium from 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 3, in the Biomedical Research Tower. Designed for physicians, clinical researchers, nurses and other healthcare professionals, this program will provide an overview of the multidisciplinary management of bone and spine tumors. The keynote speaker will be Shreyaskumar Patel, MD, professor and deputy chair of Sarcoma Medical Oncology at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, who will present “General Principles in the Management of Bone and Soft-Tissue Sarcoma” at 10:35 a.m. OSUCCC Director Michael Caligiuri will give a welcome address. Other Ohio State faculty who are on the agenda include experts in tumors of the spine: Ehud Mendel, MD; Robert Cavaliere, MD; Eric Bourekas, MD; and Simon Lo, MD; experts in lung cancer: Patrick Ross, MD, PhD; and Gregory Otterson, MD; experts in bone sarcoma, kidney and prostate cancer: Joel Mayerson, MD; Paul Wakely, MD; Thomas Olencki, DO; and Paul Monk, MD; experts in reconstructive cancer surgery, breast cancer and melanoma: Michael Miller, MD; Charles Shapiro, MD; and Kari Kendra, MD, PhD; and an expert in multiple myeloma: Craig Hofmeister, MD. The registration fee is $50 for physicians and $25 for other healthcare professionals. Payment can be made via 100Ws.
